WHEN YOU ENTER MY CLASS…
You are a scientist
You are an engineer
You are a mathematician
You are an explorer
You are a writer
You are an artist
You are respected
You are safe
YOU are the reason I am a teacher
Hello and welcome! My name is Amy McMahon and I have been an educator in the Charleston County School District for nearly 20 years. I've been a fourth grade teacher at St. Andrew's School of Math and Science for eight years. Throughout my tenure here,
I've been involved in many STEM related projects and was awarded the 2016 local and state STEM Science Teacher of the Year by the Air Force Association. And, thanks to the support of our school and PTA , a little boat named the Carolina Dreamer drifted across the Atlantic and landed in Wales last February. The mini- sailboat managed to capture international attention and became an overnight "celebrity." Please visit Facebook and locate the Carolina Dreamer's page for a detailed account and photos of her extraordinary story.
I truly love what I do and I am dedicated to educating our youth by creating memorable, innovative, and meaningful learning experiences each day.
As we begin this school year, I want each and every one of you to know how honored I am to have you in my class. Together we will fill our days with wonder, curiosity, and adventure. Together we will overcome challenges and achieve our goals. Together, we will ensure that each and everyday is a happy, fun and productive day of learning. Again, welcome. Now, let’s get started!
